Beat the Summer Heat with These Cool New Cocktails

What’s your favorite summer pastime? For lots of people, maybe yourself included, the answer is doing absolutely nothing with a refreshing drink in hand. Let’s be honest though, another bloody mary or a simple margarita just isn’t going to cut it this time around. Solution? Grab your drinking buddies and check out the new summertime cocktails debuting at restaurants across the Valley.  With the 4th of July right around the corner and the pool calling your name, now is a perfect time to sip something new. Check out the list below to see our summer cocktail highlights.

The Montauk--Besides brimming with beach scenery, brunch, and American/New England fare, The Montauk in Old Town Scottsdale, is offering up several new cocktails to quench your summertime thirst. They are introducing a new lineup including the Tropical Rush, a mixture of Deep Eddy vodka, orange juice, peach and red bull; the Fountain of Youth, a combination of Don Julio Blanco tequila, ginger liqueur, kiwi puree, cucumber and mint; the Blueberry Buck, a blend of Jameson IPA whiskey, blueberry syrup, ginger beer and lime; the Rosemary Fizz, a mix of Tanqueray gin, prosecco, rosemary syrup and lemon; and, the Cherry Lime Cola, a concoction of Absolut Lime vodka, Benedictine, cherry syrup and lime.

TwoBrothersCocktails

Two Brothers Tap House & Brewery--Inside a chic industrial space this Scottsdale spot, is serving up some refreshing libations alongside its locally sourced pub fare for the summer. Their new offerings include the Pom Gimlet: a blend of Two Brothers gin, Pom Wonderful, lime juice and agave syrup; the Grandma’s Lemonade: a mixture of Two Brothers vodka, simple syrup, strawberry and basil leaves; and the Cactus Cooler: a cocktail made of Two Brothers vodka, lime juice, agave syrup, cucumber and mint.

Hash Kitchen 4th of July Mimosa

The Hash Kitchen--Boasting a modern creative kitchen and a build-your-own bloody mary bar, this breakfast joint also offers up some cocktails to celebrate the upcoming American holiday. The chic spot has decided to rollout $4 mimosas in red, white, and blue on the 4th of July for all us celebrators; a mix of champagne and various juices. Stop by one of the two locations to enjoy these fanciful features as well as a DJ and some culinary creations.

The Sanctuary Resort & Spa--For the more adventurous drinker, this luxurious respite on Camelback Mountain is offering private mixology classes where you not only get to enjoy your drink but learn how to make it with the best. Throughout July, you can learn to make 3-4 innovative cocktails for $40 per person; these include punches, Long Island Ice Tea, rum mixes, and other blended specialties. Add some style to your summer cocktail enjoyment.

Fresno Smash2

Desoto Central Market--As an arbiter of one of the trendiest eatery spots in Phoenix, Desoto Central Market excels in fusion and culinary creation; and it makes sense that they would mix together some new delights come summer. This season, one can find the Fresno Smash and the Sonoran on the drinks menu. The Fresno Smash is a concoction of mint, chilis, Prairie cucumber vodka, Cruzan strawberry rum, sweets and sours, grenadine, soda water, strawberry and mint, while the Sonoran is an updated margarita blend of Espolón Blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, orange curaçao, citrus, cilantro, angostura bitters and a flaming orange peel. Southern Rail--With takes on updated Southern American classics, Southern Rail in uptown Phoenix is a sure bet to offer up a delicious remix of a favoriteadult beverage. Dubbed the Creole Lemonade, you can expect to taste a combination of Cruzan Rum, Hanger Citron Vodka, Tapatio Reposado Tequilla, Pimm's No. 1, lemon juice, honey syrup, crystal hot sauce, and lemonade garnished with lemon wheels.
