Fashion designer and freelance photographer Nancy Wegard immortalizes the Chiricahua Mountains in Coronado National Park.
“[I took this shot of] the Chiricahua Mountains, in Coronado National Park, 30 miles south of Willcox. Within this area, the nation of the Chiricahua Apaches were forced to fight and defend the homeland of their families. This is the profile of the great Chiricahua Apache chief Cochise. As it appears, he’s lying on his back looking up at the stars forever. [It was] taken at sunset [in] December 2017.”
